Tatenda is a Ph.D. Research Fellow in Auditing and Fraud Detection at the School of Business and Law, University of Agder (UiA), Kristiansand. He obtained his MSc in Accounting and Finance from Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics (USBE), Umeå University, Sweden, and a BSc in Accounting (Honors) from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe. Tatenda has taught a bachelor's course in research methods at the University of Agder. In addition, Tatenda has been a teaching assistant in several courses at the master’s level, such as Auditing, Fraud Detection, Financial Statement Analyses, Equity Valuation, and Research Methods. He was also a teaching assistant in a bachelor’s course in Business Analytics. Tatenda’s research interests include the use of technology by auditors, fraud detection, auditors’ decision-making, and sustainability assurance. Tatenda worked as a Chief Accountant for one of Zimbabwe's leading detergent manufacturing companies. Additionally, he has vast experience as a high school educator in Accounting, Business Studies, and Economics.
